Envision Engineering provided full design and construction administration services for the electrical design of the Holladay Intermountain Healthcare (IHC) Clinic. This new 34,000 SF, $8.8 million, 2-story medical clinic includes InstaCare and KidsCare clinics along with Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Radiology, Physical Therapy, and other specialties.

The project was designed to accommodate future expansion plans that are projected to double the building size. Working in the owner’s best interest, Envision proposed and successfully implemented the proper sizing and “rough in” of electrical service to accommodate the future planned expansion. Although expansion is projected to be approximately 10 years away, it will save the owner tens of thousands of dollars in future upgrades.

Another unique electrical engineering challenge was an extremely complicated site with a web of Rocky Mountain Power, Qwest Communications, Comcast Cable TV, and Utopia Communications lines. Envision provided extensive field investigations and coordination to relocate, demolish, and/or re-feed the multiple utilities which included over seven electrical services, 10 overhead line spans, and thousands of feet in cable. Envision also implemented sustainable design to reduce costs and deliver energy efficiency throughout the project from electrical power to lighting design.
