City Creek Center Underground Parking Structure

City Creek Reserve, Inc. | Salt Lake City, Utah

The downtown City Creek Center project is a landmark, $2.5 billion mixed-use redevelopment project which includes large-scale retail, residential towers, apartments, and office space on two city blocks.

City Creek Center rests on four levels of an expansive parking garage which is continuous between the two blocks bridged by an already existing parking structure under Main Street (with electrical engineering also completed by Envision).

Envision’s work on the 2.1 million SF, $178 million parking garage spanned over 6 years and required the extensive collaboration with local utilities, city entities, general contractors, architects, and other consultants.

Envision worked closely with Rocky Mountain Power to provide nearly 20 megawatts of power to the large facility via multiple electrical services served by 12 new utility vaults. Envision’s electrical work provided support and infrastructure for several state-of-the-art electrical and communications systems supporting the parking facility, including: miles of telecom infrastructure to serve the garage, retail, and residential structures above; an extensive ground grid system for ESE lighting protection system for the entire development; CCTV design; a fiber optic network to support parking access control, revenue system, smart signs, distributive antenna system, and CCTV; a distributive antenna system for cell phone coverage; lighting design and illumination studies to meet stringent retail standards; and, re-routing existing power and power utilities affected by new construction.
