Mound Fort Innovation Center

Ogden School District | Ogden, Utah

The 13,000 SF, $3.5 million Mound Fort Innovation Center is leading the way as the first fully dedicated STEM center for junior high students in Utah. Numerous design features enhance and create and innovative educational environment for students with features that include team- and project-based learning suites, a makerspace, laboratories, and open, flexible spaces.

Envision provided all electrical engineering and related design services for the addition of the Innovation Center to the Mound Fort Jr. High Campus. This included coordination and relocation of utilities, design of new electrical systems, security, telecommunications, and audiovisual design. Energy efficiency was accomplished throughout the electrical and lighting design and included the use of solar panels to power the center.

In addition, much of the building's systems—structural, mechanical, and electrical—are revealed and color coded as an engineering teaching opportunity for students.
